Fish asset – Baking

Throughout my entire project, I needed to use a process called baking so that I could keep the quality of the high poly models while only using a low poly version.

The main Idea is to get the top picture (5000 Faces) looking like the bottom picture (200,000 Faces).Screen Shot 2017-06-07 at 15.11.58.pngScreen Shot 2017-06-07 at 15.13.17.pngScreen Shot 2017-06-07 at 15.12.06.pngIn order to bake the model, first I have to UV unwrap it using Zbrush’s UV Master toolbar. Every model had to be worked on the lowest subdivision level and painted to mark out where the seams where to be. Screen Shot 2017-06-07 at 15.12.23.png

Later on within substance painter all that was needed was to load in the low poly fbx fileand then bake the high poly version on top of it.Screen Shot 2017-06-07 at 15.29.14.png
