Character movement

In order to make the character move from Idle, to walk, to run I needed to create an animation graph. Within this graph, I imported all of my animations that were bound to the original T-Pose mesh.  Screen Shot 2017-02-07 at 16.41.54.png

The separate graph allowed me to create a variable in which the character gradually speeds up depending on the acceleration.Screen Shot 2017-02-07 at 16.41.50.pngThe animation blueprint then needed to be connected with a state machine, this was a fairly simple part as it only involved setting up the speed variable to speed up and slow down.Screen Shot 2017-02-07 at 17.34.45.pngScreen Shot 2017-02-07 at 17.34.51.png

The last step is to simply connect the speed variable to the player character in the blueprint shown below. Without this, my character would not be able to play the walk and run animations, and would only stay in the idle pose. Screen Shot 2017-02-07 at 17.40.08.png
