Unreal engine – Lift

To add more interesting scenery to my game, I have decided to create a cliff side which can take the player to a separate part of the level. In order for the player to get up the cliff, I have imported a lift mechanism that I created in blender.

The model itself is fairly simple, only using basic rectangles and textures, not to overburden the already packed project. In order for the player to step onto the lift, I have implemented a basic collision mesh. Screen Shot 2016-05-17 at 15.12.15.pngScreen Shot 2016-05-17 at 15.12.10.png Below is the process of animating this lift into a moving platform. This process is fairly similar to animating object in any other program, except unreal uses matinees to animate. To begin I set up the actor groups and set the first key frame, the rest of the process was simply to move the object and place more keyframes. Screen Shot 2016-05-17 at 15.21.38.pngScreen Shot 2016-05-17 at 15.29.47.png
